Shamir Diamond Group (“Shamir Diamonds,” “we,” “us”) is a private jewelry atelier in Leawood, Kansas. In the room, or from anywhere. The work is custom engagement rings and jewelry, natural and laboratory-grown, by appointment.

People who are blind or have low vision, who are deaf or hard of hearing, who use a keyboard or a screen reader, who have limited mobility, or who need more time, should be able to learn about a stone, ask for a piece, and sit with us. That is the point of this page.

We design shamirdiamondgroup.com toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the technical standard the U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. courts most often use when they read the ADA against a website. WCAG 2.2 Level AA is the newer edition; we take its additions as we rebuild a page.

We have not bought a third-party “ADA certified” seal. Those seals do not replace the work. If a page falls short of the standard, tell us. We will fix what we can and offer another way to do the same thing in the meantime.

On the site itself we aim for:

• Text that can be read by a screen reader, including names on photographs of jewelry.
• Color that is not the only way a fact is told. On the diamond education scales, the grade is always written in words.
• Type that can be enlarged in the browser without the page falling apart.
• Controls that work with a keyboard as well as a finger.
• Motion that pauses when a device asks for reduced motion — the ticker at the top of the house, and the light on the education stones.
• Pages in English, with a language set on the document so a reader does not guess.

The laboratory-grown list is live inventory. Next to each stone we print the shape, carat, color, clarity, measurements, and the laboratory — so the photograph is not the only description.

A small house rebuilding a site does not pretend the work is finished. Honest limits, as of this date:

• Some studio stills of jewelry are richer than their short captions. If a picture is the point of a question, we will describe it on the phone.
• Photographs in the live diamond feed come from a supplier. The written 4Cs beside them are the record we stand behind.
• The bench film is atmosphere, not instruction. It is silent. Nothing you need in order to buy or book is said only there.
• WhatsApp, Apple Maps, and the GIA or IGI report sites are other houses, with their own pages. We can pull a report number and sit with it in the room.
• PDF laboratory reports, if we email one, may not be fully tagged. Ask and we will read the lines that matter.

We review this list when we change the site. The date at the top of the page is when it was last written.

Write or call. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using, if you know it. You do not have to diagnose it.

We will:

• Answer within two business days.
• Do the same piece of work by telephone, email, text, or WhatsApp — a stone described, a quote, a time to sit.
• Repair the page when the fault is ours, and note it here if it will take longer.

If you need the hour sooner than two days, call. The studio picks up for the work.

The studio is private, in Leawood, Kansas, by appointment. Address is sent when the hour is booked. In the room, by video, or from a photograph. The piece leaves fully insured.

Before you come, tell us what the hour needs. We can:

• Describe stones and metal by hand and by loupe, not only on a screen.
• Sit at a table, not a high case. Allow a service animal.
• Speak, write, or use the device you bring. We do not require an app to finish the appointment.
• Give more time. The hour is yours; it can be longer.

If the building or the parking will be a problem, say so when you book. We will say, exactly, what the door is, and we will make another arrangement if that door is wrong.

Accessibility requests go to the same studio that answers the work. Ask for Daniel if you wish.
